I keep hearing these stories that you are more fertile after a miscarriage, how long does the "more fertile" phase last? I had a D&C on 5/4, just finished having my second cycle --should be ovulating early next week and I am putting my husband to work! We are doing this cycle completely free of meds and monitoring because Dr. Abasi said I needed to wait three full cycles before she would start up again. I can't afford IVF, I'm 42.2 months old, I need every month I can get. So me and husband are starting intercourse today (every other day). The pregnancy was the result of my first IUI attempt , with 6-8 months of timed intercourse with clomid and HCG prior to that.
Does anyone have any thoughts/experience on this "more fertile after miscarriage" or is it just an old wives tale? ANY advice would be lovely.

| OP, I have heard that it is true, and I know many people who have gotten pregnant w/ a viable pregnancy immediately following a m/c. I am in a similar boat. D&C on 5/31, had 2 very rapid cycles, and now we are starting Clomid and TI again for this cycle. I am very hopeful that there is some truth to the more fertile rumor. I am so sorry for your loss, and I hope you have some good news to share soon. |
| I got pregnant on the first try (first month, even before first period) after my miscarriage and we weren't even trying. Prior to that we tried really hard with OPKs and temping for 6 months. So, I believe it : ) Good luck! |
| Not for me, unfortunately. |

Just finished my third TTC cycle after a miscarriage and despite really good timing, the more fertile thing does not seem accurate for me.
I wish you all the best OP! |
