I go for my beta on Monday (which will be 12 days past a 5day transfer).
So far on day 6 I have a negative pregnancy test (those cheepie ones off the internet). I have ZERO signs of pregnancy or fullness or twitching down there or anything. This was my first IVF and now I'm starting to feel depressed. I feel normal, with just a hint (like the weakest hint and only b/c i'm zoning in on it of the feeling of my AF coming and that only if I really focus, not all the time). After my 5dt for the first 2 days I did feel twinges/pulls in the pelvic area. No bloating or fullness otherwise. Here and there I'll feel tingly breasts but it's so mild and likely the progesterone which i understand can mimic pregnancy symptoms. Anyway, I need to know when women started taking their HPT and seeing positives and if it was day 5/6 please don't hestitate to post. I just need to know. And, what were the symptoms you experienced in the 2ww for positive outcomes? |
|
I had a day 3 transfer, and on 8dp3dt, which would be equivalent to 6dp5dt, I only saw the very faintest, nearly invisible line on an earlypregnancytests.com strip. Same on day 9. It wasn't till 10 and 11dp3dt that the line became strong enough not to be imaginary (but still faint). And those tests supposedly detect levels as low as 20. And I am carrying twins, so my betas were pretty high when they did the blood test on day 15.
What I'm saying is, don't give up hope, because day 6 is early to test even for a day 5 transfer. I don't really remember symptoms, I don't think I had any besides slightly sore boobs (from the trigger shot already, and then probably from the progesterone). That PMS feeling is also normal during that time. Good luck to you! |

I'll just cross my fingers for you.
I really don't think symptom reading is going to tell you anything -- way too many stories of symptoms without pregnancy and (what I hope will be your story) pregnancy without symptoms. |
| I saw the world's faintest line at 6dp5dt, so faint that I thought I didn't really see it. I had absolutely no symptoms for weeks and weeks after that and was in beta hell for weeks. I now have a wonderful, healthy baby. Fingers crossed for you! |
| thanks PP, i've read so many women getting faint positives on day 6, it just worries me it didn't happen today for me. |

OP here;
I just realized I have been testing with the earlypregnancytests.com strip and of course like i said a negative this morning (6dp5dt). I didn't wait the full 5 minutes. After about 1 minute I was certain it would be a negative and tossed it. |
| 9:22 here - In my experience you have to wait longer with those strips. Especially in the beginning. Really, even with my twin beta, they took a while to show in the beginning. FRER is much better, but they are so expensive that I'd wait a couple of days to use it. |
| you may not have any symptoms - sometimes take a while for beta to be hihg enough. Thats why the blood test is no important at the end of 2 weeks. I am 6 days post FET. This is my second IVF cycle. My first one was 2 years ago and was successful and I had NO symptoms |

Thanks everyone. You are def. making me feel better, today is day 7 and still negative test. This is the most emtional part of the entire IVF praocess, the sick feeling it didn't work, the $ you put into it, the fact that if it didn't work with an almost perfect embryo why would it work with other embryo's etc. All those questions make you go mad. My DX is 2 blocked tubes due to a ruptured appendix 2 yrs ago. I also question if that could have also damanged my uterus but has not been 'diagnosed' yet as another issue.....
I can't wait for this two week to be over so that I can release all this anxiety either way and figure out the direction we're headed in. |
| I did HPT every day from 5dp5dt and didn't get a + until 9dpt on the cycle that worked so don't give up. One cycle I did get a + by 8dpt but that one ended in m/c so the torture doesn't end with a + it just is a waiting game. Good luck to you |
| thanks pp, i'll give myself a few more days b/f counting myself out for this round. |
| Also - remember that this is a very complex process and each embryo only has about a 30% chance of implanting (maybe a little higher with a 5 day transfer?). It can very easily be nothing wrong with you or the transfer - it's just how it is. Don't blame yourself and if it's a negative, just gear up for the next round. It will happen. |
| OP here. I just wanted to share that this morning on Day 8 after a 5dt, I finally saw a hint of a positive. I didn't have to squint or drive myself mad analyzing it. It was there, but very weak. I am finally feeling hopeful!!! |
| That is fantastic!!! Hope it just gets darker and darker. Let us know what happens |
|
If you're still using those earlypregnancytests.com strips - the take a long time to get dark. I was already getting a nice strong line on a FRER when those supposedly "super sensitive" tests were still pale.
So, congratulations! There is no such thing as a false positive (except with blue dye, apparently). You are pregnant! |
