Doppleganger

Did anyone have a baby that looked remarkably like one parent? If so, when did your DC stop being a doppleganger and start looking more like his or her own self?

DC2 looks just like my husband. I adore her but have to admit its sortof funny looking at the girl version of hiim (or at least the baby girl version, DC2 is only a few months old.) FWIW, DC1 was a total mix of the two of us.

Our firstborn looks exactly like my husband did at the same age--to the point where it's difficult for me to tell whether a given baby photo is of our son or my husband. This was true for the first 4.5 years of the boy's life; I haven't checked old photos in the past year (he's 5.5 now).

However, my husband no longer looks the way he did as a baby/young child, so only those of us who have seen his childhood pictures know how weird it is.

I think what doppleganger means is you've seen some that looks like you or some you know which is in another place but you've seen him/her in your place doing something but doesn't speak at all. It's like a scary one! Correct me if I'm wrong ok?

In fiction and folklore, a doppelgänger (German "double walker") (pronounced [?d?p?l?????] ( listen)) is a paranormal double of a living person, typically representing evil or misfortune.

My DD who is 4 looks exactly like me. It's uncanny. I cant see when I look at her but when we look in the mirror together...it's freaky. Everyone notices it. It's as if I had her alone (with no help from DH).

It's funny. We're an interracial couple with two kids and they each look like one of us. The eldest is my DH's clone...... but with my AA hair. Same eyes, light skin, gangly limbs, everything. The youngest... my mother likes to play the Guess Who? game with photos of him and me at his age. She has a couple of pics she dug up that show he even makes the same faces as me. The only difference is that he has DH's curly hair instead of my kinky hair.

They're in K and ES now, and it's only gotten more pronounced as they've gotten older.

I am a woman and I look exactly like my dad. If you compare pictures of us at the same age we look like twins. I've had strangers ask me if I was his daughter before.

I know a girl who looked exactly like her dad in the 3d ultrasound and still does in kindergarten.

DS has a girl doppleganger in his daycare class. They're starting to look different now that they're toddlers, but when they were infants, the other parents would ask me if they were twins. I've met both of her parents and they don't resemble me or DH at all.

My son has always favored my husband, but now at 5, he's the spitting image. I've got pics of my husband at the same age and it's really eerie.

My 2 year old son looks just like my DH looked at 2. My 4 year old daughter wouldn't even believe us when we told her that some of the pictures at her grandmother's house weren't of her brother, but were of her father.

But I don't think this is something that necessarily goes away in time. My father always looked like his father, and now he looks nearly exactly like his father did at the same age.
