How to get 13 month old to sleep in later

Anonymous
My 13 month old DS has been a pretty great sleeper since the start. He goes to bed at 8:00 and typically wakes up around 7:00am which is a pretty solid night's sleep for him! For the past 2 weeks or so he has been waking up at 5:30 instead of his usual 7:00. Is this a new trend for him or a phase? Does anyone recommend anything to get him to sleep longer in the mornings or should I accept the new 5:30 reality? I realize we've been spoiled with the 7:00 wake ups after reading some parents stories online about their early risers. I've heard to put DS to bed earlier and I've also heard the opposite.
Thanks in advance!

What happens when he wakes up? Are you sure it's not teething or anything? May be just a phase. Have you tried putting books or stuffed animals in the crib? He may play for a bit and then fall back asleep.

Yep, most of the time, there is something wrong with the child if he is not on his or her usual routine. Check what is happening, better be, you need to monitor it so your are sure that nothing is wrong with your child.

hahaha I have a 15 month old and she has never woken up before 8:30am. She goes to bed around 9/10pm. It's awesome on the weekends. I have a nanny so I don't need to worry about getting her up to go to daycare. it's lovely.

He wakes up and does the same thing he always does. Stands up in his crib, throws out his stuffed animals and paci and just yells.
