I want to switch to cloth diapers or AIOs

For those of you who use them, which brand do you recommend? There is SO much information out there and I'm overwhelmed. I want to quit adding diapers to the landfill that don't biodegrade for 500 years and I can't afford the $ for the 7th Gen diapers. I think I'm leaning towards gdiapers with cloth inserts. I've read horrible reviews about their flushable pad. But it seems like everything else is good -- no leakage, easy fit, comfortable etc. I don't know anyone who has used them. Any advice is welcomed. Thanks!

I use fuzzibunz cloth diapers. I got the factory seconds off of ebay and they work well though I find that I do need to change them more often than regular disposables. They come with an insert that slides in. They fit well and have many buttons to adjust to the size of the infant. The solid waste comes right off. I run them through the wash and then hang them up to dry (they can be tumble dried as well). I end up using disposables at night just so she stays dry.

We use MotherEase fitted dipes much of the time, b/c my DH finds them easiest to put on. However, I'd go with prefolds and a snappi, with a prowrap or wool cover, as the best bang for your buck. They're absorbant, trim, and don't cost a fortune like many of the AIOs.
Also, check out www.diaperpin.com and www.diaperswappers.com for more reviews than you probably care to read...

The bulk of my cloth diapers is the prefold with the covers. I order from GreenMountain.com and get the prefolds there and they are very absorbent, soft and I love them. I then get the covers with the velcro - super whisper wrap. I never had leakage and change DD's diapers ever 2-3 hours. I also have a few AIO's (Bummi's) but I am not crazy about them as they are not tight around my DD's leg so when she has a BM, they leak sometimes. Right now, I have about 18-24 prefolds and 4 covers. I do laundry every 3-4 days. It works well for us. My husband even changes the diapers and doesn't mind it. I also ordered the disposable liners to wrap around the diaper for BM as you can just flush that down the toilet. They can also be washed and reused if it's only a pee diaper.

I will say that I use disposalbes at night but only b/c I haven't done enough research or brought anything absorbent enough for nighttimw. The Bummi's AIO did not work for us.

We love Fuzzi Bunz. I think the cost was approx $170 for a package of 12 diapers with inserts. Our baby grew out of the small size diapers within four months (I think), but has remained in the medium size for well over a year. She's 21 months now and doesn't appear anywhere near growing out of them. The adjustable snaps are great. The colors of the diapers are fun. They're pretty easy to clean in the washer. We've done both line drying and dryer-drying. Both work fine. The money savings is good too. We're getting ready to recycle our small size Fuzzi Bunz with the next child that's coming shortly. Almost forgot to mention, we do change diapers a bit more frequently than we would if using disposables. We check her every 60-90 minutes. At night, we place an extra insert in the fuzzi bunz and that usually works well. She rarely leaks out of them.
