ABC immediately drew a link between the Colorado shooter and the tea party. Not only id this prove false, but they offered no apology. |
Just so you know, this is not a liberal/conservative issue. The leftists I follow in Twitter were up in arms about Brian Ross's reporting this this morning. Ross is simply not a good journalist and the left bears the brunt of his incompetence as much as the right. Here is one article from a liberal calling for Ross to be fired after his report this morning:

I'm liberal and I was pissed. |
Shoddy reporting but all they reported was that a guy with the same name was listed on a tea party website. In the actual quote they said "Now, we don't know if this is the same Jim Holmes," Ross cautioned "but it's Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado." Hardly a reason to get your knickers in a twist. |
well, how is it relevant what political party? just a weird inappropriate comment that brought partisan comments into a tragedy for no reason. if there was a political party that preached violence (say arayan nation or nazi or muslim extremists or anarchists), that would make sense to make mention. but tea parties just want to lower the deficit. it was bizarre. might have said ______ is the same name of someone in the Colorado Green Party, for example. |
