It makes so much more sense to size them 36x30, especially since womens' hips vary so much more than men's.
When I go shopping for dh it is so much easier then when I send him to get gifts for me "well at Ann Taylor I'm a 6, but at jcrew I'm usually an 8, etc...such a pain! |
| Agree! Makes shopping for length much easier too. And I can't stand these stupid descriptors like "The Fenster Fit"..."The Macumbie Fit" and so forth. |
| because most of us can't handle the truth. (ie the measurements) |
+1. Why do you think today's size 4 was a size 8 20 years ago. Smoke and mirrors honey! |
Unless it's Christmas or his birthday, why are you shopping for dh? Sorry he's fat, btw. |
|
Thanks bitch, and I'm sure you are really hot.
Those aren't his measurements btw, I was being hypothetical. And unlike you, I am a nice person and I enjoy picking out some of his clothes, if I see something nice and it's on sale I buy it for him. Why such a bitchy answer? Mad cause you are too nasty to have a man? |
| Some stores size that way for women's pants- i.e. 27, 28, 29 (the waist size) |
I like shopping for my DH. Why would you have a problem with that? I don't get it. Does that render me Lucy Ricardo in your "I have balls too, I swim with the sharks, I will eat you for lunch" attitude toward the world? BTW, I earn more money than my DH, and we have a partnership toward childrearing. I like doing nice things for him because he happens to be a sweetheart. His weight is kind of irrelevant. Would you appreciate having your weight made fun of? |
Yeah. Problem is, we have the hips are easily 30% bigger than our waist issue. And the other problem is, our inseams vary, our waists/hips vary in size AND ratio, and our thighs vary too. Four variables = too many options for it to be worthwhile, it would seem. Although if everyone bought into it instead of making their own 'fit profiles', then it would indeed be easier. Honestly, I would love to know that my clothes are going to fit vs. having to try on 3 sizes just to figure out what sizing trend they are following at the moment. I'd honestly buy a lot more clothes that way - it'd be much less work! |
I don't think it would work. If you look at the cut of many women's pants, they bow out around the hips (and I'm not just talking about Mom Jeans). Men's pants are straight up and down. Remember good old Levis? If you had hips, they weren't all that hot on you. |
| I shop for almost all of DHs clothes. I can buy his standard size almost anywhere and it will fit him. Most men do not wear their clothes as fitted as women do so any variation will be felt in women's clothing, especially in the waist and hips. All of DH's clothing is loose-fitting with the exception of his suits which are custom made. |
