If the teenage daughter of any Democratic nominee were revealed to be pregnant out of wedlock, the right wing would be attacking like piranha.
It's the hypocrisy of their professed responses in the Palin situation versus how they would respond if it were happening to the Democrats that is so disgusting and infuriating. |
Yup. |
It's about taking the high road, I believe. Hopefully it will be the right move in the short term, and history will reflect it to be the right move in the long term. |
OP here. ITTA - but it just makes my blood boil. Sigh. |
I hear you. I feel the same way as I try to teach my kids to be the bigger person...sometimes you just don't want to be! |
but that's how it is. Bristol, the "beautiful" daughter of Sarah Palin is pregnant, and her parents come to her rescue. "Life happens." according to McCain.
Tamesha, the 17 year old daughter of LaShawn is pregnant, and is being judged for her lack of judgement, her lack of education, and her overall performance in society. Shame on them, they are outcasts. And it was bound to happen, wasn't it? Double standards happen all the time. And it is on us to realize that this may just be another one of those situations, in which people think they are an exception. Principles and political beliefs are fine things to have, but once you reflect upon the evolution of those, you have no choice but to consider one's personal situation. I look at Sarah Palin, and I ask myself, how can she be so black and white, if her own personal situation never was? Yes, I agree, the press needs to leave Bristol alone. But politicians are human beings, and with that comes their background. I see a discrepancy between how Sarah Palin treats her own family matters and those of the rest of the nation, and that concerns me deeply and leads me to believe that she is not fit to be vice president, much less president of this country. |
