What is hidden in Romney's gas returns??

What can he be trying to hide? The financial information he has exposed thus far is incomplete. He has not disclosingtext information about off shore investments. ( the very reason anyone moves money off shore is to hide it from the IRS

He made a lot of money and legally sheltered it from taxes. That seems obvious to me. Everyone should accept this fact, and then decide if it makes a difference in their decision to vote for him. My guess is that it make no difference.

You really think people aren't going to be just a little worried about electing a guy who earns millions and pays next to nothing (likely ZERO in 2009) in taxes?

Matters to me.

My guess is that it is something that has not even been guessed yet. I don't recall seeing any hypotheses so bad that they were worth the grief he's getting. The closest I can come among the foreseeables is that such concrete evidence of the effect of the Bush tax cuts on the wealthy will encourage public sentiment to demand that the cuts be ended, which would totally destroy Mitt's main mission, making millions more for the moneyed.

He is doing the right thing. Nothing will be sufficient to the ones demanding it so why give into the demands?

This is like Obama getting sucked into the birther debate with Trump. Don't legitimize the crazies by giving into their demands.

There is no parallel between the birther debate and Romney's taxes.

Barack Obama was born in Hawaii. That's a fact, and anyone demanding "proof" is not paying attention.

Mitt Romney wants to be president so he can have a say in U.S. tax policy. His stated policies clearly favor the ultra-rich, and knowing how much (or, more likely, how little) he pays in taxes is relevant to that decision.

I, for one, don't think he's done anything illegal. But I think it would be very enlightening for the American people to see just how much the .001% pay in taxes simply by having enough money to pay experts to prepare their taxes taking full advantage of the myriad laws that let rich people avoid taxes. (Apologies for that tortured sentence.)

His tax records are so unsavory that it will be the end of his political career.
Scamming money with bogus tax claims, offshoring jobs, owns porn magazines, etc etc

If he could he would make it public, but with skeletons in the closet,he cannot

Word is... His tax returns say he's born in Kenya !

Excuse me, but asking a politician for his tax return is not "legitimizing the crazies". And even people on the political right are saying he should disclose.

it is fun to watch him wiggle.

Who thinks he will pick Sarah Palin as his running mate?

If Romney wants to lead this country, I'd like him to prove he's contributed his fair share in taxes to it.

If not, I'm sure he can go be president of the Cayman Islands or whatever tax shelter he's hoarding his money away in.
