100% juice

I don't understand what is a 100% juice and what is a 42% or 50% juice. What is the remaining percentage? Is it sugar water?

What does the label say?

Label lists all of the ingredients. Does 100% mean just the fruit? Trop 50 is "half the calories" but it is also less than 100% juice. I don't get it.

Probably has artificial sweeteners, water, other preservatives.

another thing to consider is if it says 100% grape juice than it is all grape, but if it says grape 100% juice then it may be as little as 10% grape and 90% other juices (usually apple)

Read the ingredient list.

Trop 50 is just watered down OJ, as are all the lite juices

But trip 50 is less than 100% juice. I can't imagine that water reduced the juice percentage ?

What do you mean? If it's 50% juice, then the other 50% is something else, likely water -- so of course it reduces the juice percentage.

yes, this is what I want to know. What is the other fifty percent? Simple water can reduce the juice percentage?

Of course.

There is little juice in juice. It's mostly sugar, and nutritionally equivalent to soda.

That's not really true. It's caloric value may be very similar to soda, but 100% juice does have phytonutrients. It's not as good as a whole fruit, but it is better than soda.

So is 100% juice better than 50% juice?

Depends what the other 50% is.
