A little confused. Does it mean that if Washington-Lee students want to enroll in AP courses, they have to go to Wakefield?
Thanks! |
| No. W-L has full AP and IB programs. Students can choose to do an AP or IB track, or take a mix of AP and IB classes. |
| Yes W-L has AP. No. Wakefield AP Network is a specialized program to prepare students for the rigors of AP. |
| W-L has AP courses, but not the breadth of AP courses that you'd find at Yorktown or AP schools in Fairfax. |
|
In the APS program of studies W-L maybe lacks 2 or 3 AP courses that Yorktown and Wakefield have. For example at W-L there are no AP Economics classes, which Wakefield and Yorktown offer. W-L has an IB equivalent for that. But otherwise W-L has a very complete set of AP courses.
According to the school's website W-L offers AP courses in 22 subject areas. |
| Some Fairfax schools have 28 AP courses. Be that as it may, there are plenty of challenging courses - AP or IB - offered at W-L. |
