Open darkroom?

Anonymous
Does anyone know of an open darkroom in DC I can use to do some developing from time to time? I can't seem to find one anywhere, how sad.

It *is* sad - the darkroom seems to be going the way of the dodo bird. BUT Looks like Glen Echo's is still open. Yay!

OP, have you thought about making your own? I bet you could get all the equipment super cheap from everyone trying to unload them. If you're short on space, do the temporary bathroom darkroom thing. Building my own darkroom was a dream of mine for so long, but I never got around to it, and now with the proliferation of digital... Sigh. I need to summon my inner Sally Mann!

Have fun and take a deep sniff of those chemicals for me!

Thank you so much! I'd love to develop at home, but I live in a rather cramped apartment and I don't see that working. After a little googling I found out that Capitol Hill Arts Workshop also has a darkroom, so I will check both of those out.

The Corcoran has one for continuing education students, I believe. Not sure if it's downtown or at their Georgetown campus.
