Me, too. I got an iphone recently and I don't get the app thing at all. Every site has an app, but the plain old site works just fine, so why an app?

Have you seen how many ads are on this site? I am sure he makes plenty of $$$ and will make more over time through ads than he ever will with an app.

We will charge a nominal amount for the app. However, I really see it as a money loser. I don't think we will get back the money spent to develop it (at least not through the app sales). As the other poster pointed out, we make money from advertisement on the site - far more money in fact than we ever would have imagined -- but the iPhone app won't display these ads. We are planning to use Apple's iAd program, but I am really apprehensive about how that will perform. The entire iPhone app initiative is more about providing a better user experience, experimentation, and research to see how it goes, then it is about revenue.
