I am 7 weeks with #2 and have the following symptoms that I didn't have with #1:
- initially sore breasts are no longer sore - initial tiredness and body aches are no longer - no morning sickness (with #1 it started around 6 weeks) - some brownish discharge for about 2 days (looks like the tail end blood of a period) I initially "knew" I was pregnant before taking any test. Maybe my gut is again telling me something... My first checkup with my OB is Friday. Whatever the outcome, I'm looking for any others who have been through this. Tell me this could either be a normal part of pregnancy or not. |
| I don't think this will help with you at all, but I had no symptoms at all until after my missed miscarriage when my breasts got extremely sore until about 2 weeks after my d&c, so it could go either way. |
| I had that spotting with a successful pregnancy and a missed miscarriage. However, with the MC it got heavier and heavier. With my daughter it stayed from about week six through 9. Could go either way and just no way to know until US. So sorry b/c I know how stressful it is. Also, i can't recall if pregnancy symptoms subsided or not. |
| All pg symptoms wax and wane, so I wouldn't rely on that as an indicator. I also has brown spotting with my first pregnancy around weeks 6-7. Also no morning sickness after 8 weeks. I don't think anything you've mentioned is particularly alarming, but likee PP said, you'll only know for sure what's up when you have your sono. |
|
the only evidence that I was having a missed m/c was the ultrasound that showed a baby that was 3 weeks behind with no heartbeat.
up until a week later when I finally started to miscarry I had all my pregnancy symptoms - that was so hard, to know I was carrying around a dead baby and still felt pregnant. it was awful. |
| This is definitely something that can be a normal part of pregnancy. I felt the same during the first few weeks of being pregnant with my son versus being pregnant and having the missed m/c. I wouldn't read too much into your symptoms or lack thereof at this point. |

I had similar changes around 6 weeks last pregnancy. Breasts got smaller and less heavy. I was convinced it was a miscarriage. Numbers were fine, and I had a healthy pregnancy. In retrospect, my only (unscientific) explanation is that my body got over the initial shock of new hormones and the symptoms settled down a bit.
That said, I think some people would tell you this happened to them when they miscarried. So unfortunately, you won't know until your appointment. I'm 5 weeks pregnant with #2 and questioning my symptoms all over again, so I'm sympathetic to your concerns. It's hard not knowing what is going on inside your own body. |

My symptoms started to go away around 6 weeks - peeing at night, breast fullness. When I went for my first appointment at 8 weeks I had a feeling something was wrong and that there was probably no baby. I even mentioned to my doctor that my symptoms went away and I don't think the scan will be a happy one. He said not to go by symptoms cause they come and go, but I was right. There was no baby. Growth stopped during the 5th week.
I started to miscarry on my own at 10 weeks. |
| I had a missed miscarriage and had no change in symptoms. In fact, the baby had passed at 9 week and I didnt' find out until my NT scan at 11 1/2 weeks. I guess eventually they would have lessened but clearly my body didn't realize and there was no signs that I was going to pass it anytime in the near future and I ended up having a D&C. Durring my other two pregnancies by symptoms definitely came and went. You are likely fine but if you need to, see if you can get in earlier if you really need to see the baby. Good luck! |
OP here. My brownish discharge has turned red. All signs point to this not being a viable pregnancy. I'll go to my appointment today ready for either outcome.
For those of you who had a MC, how long did you wait to try again? |
|
I waited one cycle - as advised by my doctor. My period came 25 days after the first day of bleeding from miscarriage - I usually have a 28-day cycle.
We are now pregnant again - second month trying. |
| I'm so sorry, OP. I hope you get good news. After my m/c I waited until I got my period and then we started trying. Got pregnant on the second try. Currently 8 weeks and hating this no man's land between appts in the first tri. Every book I read is telling me my middle should be getting thicker but aside from the rare afternoon of bloat, my stomach is as flat as ever. |
| I'm so sorry! |
| I'm the same as the past two PPs - tried immediately after my m/c, but I don't think I ovulated and then got pregnant after my first period (so second cycle). I'm so sorry... |
| So sorry, OP. At least your appt is today. Let us know the outcome either way. We're thinking of you. |
