Does not a rental dwelling have to be livable
Can I not pay for the days when there is no power. Should the owner pay me for the food that I had to toss? What are my rights? I am reading books and looks like electricity is one of the things that the landlord has to provide, otherwise it is not rentable |

Are you serious, or all the trollz just out today?
It is he landlord's responsibility to make sure you have access to electricity, not that the power company provide it. Doofus. |
| I think there is probably a clause in your lease that says the landlord is not responsible for acts of God, which would include the freak storm that caused the electricity to go out. And do not self help by not paying rent for the days the electricity is out because I think they could evict you if you did that--again, check the lease. Sorry. My sympathies for your situation though. |

The rental unit has to be livable.
If it is not then there is no duty to live in it. Like for example a flood, you have to vacate it and are not responsible for any rent and landlord must return your deposit. Mold and an infestation of roaches/spiders or rats are another legal reason to leave Another big question is do you have water? |
| No power does not mean it isn't livable. Lots of people are living without power. It is your problem, not the landlords. |

Your internet/phone seems to be working. How are you charging a laptop or phone?
I wouldn't waste battery space on DCUM. You might need it for ordering pizza or reading People.com |
| A tree fell on my car. That's covered under the manufacturer's warranty, right? |
| Let me guess , you voted for obama |
Should be covered by your car insurance policy. |
| OP you so silly sock puppeting. |
Someone didn't get the joke. |

BAAAHAHAHAHAHA |
| The rental company isn't depriving you of the ability to have electricity. |
