Any Immersion Waitlist Updates?

Has anyone gotten a call recently about getting off of an immersion waitlist? If so, do you mind sharing which school/program and what number you were on the list???? TIA!

I just spoke with the Montgomery County office that keeps the waitlists for the immersion programs.
The person I spoke with told me that they have proceeded to number 13 on the waitlist for Rock Creek Forest.

Great! Thanks for the update. RCF's waitlist seems to be moving quite slowly. I wonder if there is more movement closer to start of school?

For immersion waitlist updates, call 301 592 2040. You will hear options for immersion programs, magnet programs, etc. Press "0" to connect to an operator and they will direct you to the right person. When I pressed the option for immersion programs, I was connected to a voicemail box for an individual who was out for an extended period of time, so you are better off connecting directly to an operator. The people I spoke with were very helpful. Just wish I was higher on the waitlist......

Sometimes the list moves in the Fall when kids drop out of immersion programs. I know a family that got in in November to RCF and ended sending their child. Tough, but doable.

List moves all the time, I know people who were accepted in July, August, September and October..

Is all hope lost and should I throw in the towel? I'm low on the list but I haven't heard anything in quite sometime.

There will probably be movement on the list into the fall. It's very possible that DC will get in but be prepared for the alternative, at least for a little bit into the fall. It could happen during the first week of class or as late as October.
