I am looking to travel in early October for 4 nights with 4 women. Most of us are in DC, and we all want to go to a warm, relaxing, beach destination. We are low-key, small resort, low-key luxury types.
We are looking for a spot to unwind, have some great meals, a few drinks and enjoy the sun. I don't think we want to hit a dedicated spa or anyplace with tons of activities, workouts, diet plates, etc. Collectively, we would be more inclined to hit up a museum than a casino... I think a villa or condo rental might work well. Maybe one where we could hire a chef
We have agreed that the Southwest, NYC, Vegas, Atlantic City, Mexico and Hawaii are not appealing or realistic for a variety of reasons. I think Jamaica, Bermuda, Puerto Rico or Florida could work well as most places have non-stop flights. One friend is in CA, and most of us have lived in CA, so this is not exotic to most of us. Any one have any suggestions? Thanks in advance! |

Naples, Fla: Waterside Shops and 5th Ave for upscale shopping, day trips to the Everglades, and Keewaydin Island by boat for the nature types. Lunch at the Ritz or tubing at Naples Bay Resort.
Captiva/Sanibel is also nice. Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, rent those silly little open cars to drive around, drinks at Doc Ford's, day trip to Cayo Costa and Cabbage Island, lighthouse, shopping and day spa at Periwinkle plaza. |
| Thanks, I have been curious about Naples. Sounds lovely! |
| i don't think bermuda would have the weather you want in october. what about miami (south beach, resort, coral gables -- the breakers??) or the keys? puerto rico is nice too. |
| sorry, it's the biltmore in coral gables, not breakers. |
