I would love to hear some opinions about JCCNV's preschool from people that go there. We are considering it for our children. I have heard lots of good things, but I know that there are bad things about all places, and its just a matter or whether or not those things are important to you. So, I would love to hear some of the negative opinions of this preschool. Thanks so much!
We sent our son and we are currently sending our daughter to the Beth El campus one in Alexandria. We've liked it for both. Cost is also good if you sign up for full-time year round. They do have a tendency to burn through teachers because they don't get along with director, but we and our kids have been happy with it.
My son has gone to the Fairfax campus since he was a baby and we've loved it. It's a big school but feels close knit. we haven't had an issue with teachers but it's a different campus.
My daughter is at the Fairfax location. I'd say it's a "traditional" atmosphere where teachers seem to "control" more than teach. I've witnessed teachers losing their tempers in the classrooms. As a parent, I lose my temper, but frankly I expect more from the professionals. It's not a progressive, respect-the-children type of environment. It's more of a have-fun-but-if-you-do-something-I-don't-like-I'll-put-you-in-your-place! kind of environment. The toddler restrooms are foul. Granted, most of the kids using them have no idea how to clean up after themselves, but SOMEONE should. All that said, it certainly has its pluses. I focused on the negative because that's what was asked. My daughter is generally happy when I pick her up. I debate with myself whether or not the pros outweigh the cons. So far, they must, because we're still there. But it's not a slam dunk.
Never had any issues with the preschool in Fairfax...staffing is always very caring and open to listening to any issues that may arise. I have had 3 children attend there and it's great!
