Did you have an ectopic? What were your symptoms?

I'm so worried that after a long road, I have a BFP, and betas are going up, that it won't be in the right place. Had some cramping on one side.

I had pretty intense pain. It was kind of a shooting pain. I felt it in my bowels strangely enough.

It felt like contractions/heavy cramping and there was lots of blood. When we got to the ER, they originally thought it was a miscarriage

OP: Fortunately, I never got to the tubes-bursting stage, but I had low (but doubling) betas, no sac visible in the uterus though I had 3 ultrasounds during week 7, and extra fluid in the cul-de-sac (the space between the 2 fallopian tubes). I also had near-nonstop spotting from week 5 to 7. We treated with methotrexate at week 8.

Cramps could be just about anything, so I wouldn't read too much into them. You're being regularly monitored, so if it is something unfortunate, like a suspected ectopic, they should be able to catch it right away.

OP - I'm so so sorry to hear the news...if you wouldn't mind sharing your beta's, I'd be appreciative, mine are the same (low but doubled) and I'm waiting for my first scan next week and terrified...no cramping, no bleeding, but I'm on progesterone so that might keep the bleeding away.

I had pretty intense cramping and pain for 2 weeks before the bleeding and rupture. Unfortunately, I wasn't being monitored by a doctor so I didn't get medical care until I got to the hospital after the rupture.

8:54, I was on progesterone too (my ectopic was after IVF) and had little shooting pains but also a little spotting that was increasing overnight. Had the scan the next morning at my 5w checkup which confirmed ectopic. So the progesterone didn't keep spotting away. Best of luck to you ladies.

My ectopic didn't hurt much but I had already lost a lot of blood and had burst tubes. You can do an US to see where the pregnancy is- usually- by the time you can do a beta.

If your betas are increasing appropriately, though, you are likely okay
