Just moved to a townhouse in Herndon over the weekend. I ordered a new bed for DS last week from Walmart. Checked the tracking status this morning and it said it was delivered yesterday, the time was right about when I was getting DS ready for his nap, so we were definitely home - and our large dog would have gone crazy if she had heard anyone knocking. While I haven't observed anything shady in our new neighborhood, there always seem to be people walking around. I really don't know how a 100+ pound package could have just disappeared. Has anyone else had a package that Fed-Ex said they delivered that you never received? Or is it more likely a neighbor somehow got a hold of it? Walmart is sending a replacement, but now I'm wary of having things delivered here ![]() |
I have had the USPS repeatedly deliver both mail and packages to other houses and others to mine. I would assume Fed Ex has screw ups sometimes too. |
I'd assume screw up. |
This happens to us on a regular basis; the drivers can't seem to read house numbers right sometimes. Usually if you call the shipping company, they will send the driver back to whatever house they delivered the package to, in an attempt to retrieve it. |
I would assume screw up as well - we had a UPS package delivered one street up a few weeks ago (same house number, different street). The neighbors who got our package by mistake were nice enough to bring it over, but if it's a very heavy item that's missing they could be waiting for the company to come back for it and bring it to you. |
I'd call FedEx. They are usually good about trying to track their packages correctly. I had one guy who tracked a suitcase for us (we were on vacation and needed the clothes) over Christmas. |
Probably just a screw up. I've had numerous packages coming to me delivered to the wrong addresses, neighbor addresses, and sometimes just mixed in with a larger stack of packages going somewhere else.(By UPS, FedEx, and USPS) I've also received several packages meant for other people.(I would usually call which ever company delivered it, and they would come pick it up, if it wasn't a nearby neighbor) It will probably turn up eventually, but I'd let the shipping company deal with it and not worry about it. |
Yes, I had a package coming to me by Fed Ex that I not only received a tracking number for, but also had a phone call saying it was being delivered and then tracking showed it had been delivered. Turns out, the company hadn't even sent the damn thing at that time. |
Packages get stolen off my porch often. I know people think I'm rude because I never sent thank you notes to them. Paying the price of living transitional. |
Our drivers for FE and UPS and USPS are constantly marking things are delivered before they attempt, or before they get access. So if they're running late or can't get a signature, it says it came but it didn't. Sometimes it takes 3 more days for them to pull it back out of the back of the truck and bring it to us. Call Fed Ex. |
