Requesting OOD transfer for Middle School?

| The house we just moved into is assigned to a middle school that is 20 minutes away in rush hour, but we live a 5 minute walk from another MS. Both MSs feed to the same HS. Neither MS is appreciably "better" than the other. DC will be going into 8th grade, so attending the HS either way after 1 more year. We'd prefer to have her attend the MS close to our home so she can walk. What do you think our chafes are of getting MCPS to agree to a transfer request? TIA. |

| Probably low because that same situation applies to your whole neighborhood. What is the capacity situation at each school? Over or under? |
