chicken ok to use tomorrow?

Anonymous
I had a whole chicken cut up in pieces that I froze. I removed it from the freezer and put it in the fridge on monday. The pieces this morning are totally thawed (still a bit frozen yesterday). I had planned on using it tonight but plans have changed and I won't be getting home until right around dinner time (not to mention I don't really want hot chicken on such a hot day!). Will it still be good to use tomorrow? I usually just thaw things the day of in cold water and am not sure. I assume if it still smells ok it should be fine, especially since it wasn't completely thawed until today (or possibly last night).

Thanks!!

There's no way for us to predict the answer. If it is bad, it will be obvious by the smell and touch of the chicken.

There will be posters who will say they'd just toss us, but I would evaluate it, and if it seems good, just be sure to cook it very well.

Toss *it*, not us.

Yes, it will still be good. That is two days in the fridge, right? Chicken should be good in the fridge quite a bit longer than that! Toss it if it smells bad, but it shouldn't unless it was already old at the store.

I agree that its probably fine.
