Jewish Nursery School - Anything before 18 Months?

Anonymous
In researching past posts and looking on various websites, it appears that most Jewish nursery schools begin at the earliest at 18 months, and often at 2 years or later. Many also appear to take children for only half of the day, rather than for the full day. If you have any different experience, I would be interested in hearing from you.

At this point, I am planning to stay home for the first 9-12 months, then assume I must use a different nursery school before moving my child into a Jewish program when they reach the 18-24 month age group. I hate to add extra adjustments, but don't see a great alternative. Most interested in N.Va, and schools with longer than half-day programs. Thank you in advance.

To be honest, I've never seen a full-day program for 12 month olds called "nursery school"-- that's pretty much "day care"-- not that there's anything wrong with that.

The Jewish Community Center on Little River Turnpike has a full daycare/ early childhood program. They have an infant and toddler program as well. They offer a flexible schedule - anything from part-time a few days a week to full time care. My son started about 2 months ago, and I can't say enough about it. He is thriving there, and I'm so glad we found it.
