Somebody has posted a 2003 list of those high schools nationwide (public and private) that send the highest share of their graduates to elite universities (I am not sure how correct this list is).
http://webreprints.djreprints.com/wsj_tuition_040104.pdf Can anybody provide more updated information? I am especially interested in how MoCo public high schools fare. |
Every spring Bethesda Magazine publishes a list. I don't have it so I can't help, but perhaps you can get it from the library.
Bear in mind that some schools have wonky results because they house application-only programs. Blair has the magnet and CAP programs, and Richard Montgomery has the IB program. Also, there are plenty of smart kids in MoCo high schools, including in the Blair and RM magnets, whose families can't afford private universities and ivies. But that's no reflection on the quality of education or these kids' intelligence. |
Interesting list. I don't know which 10 schools they are including but I think Whitman's numbers are about the same. I know there are 10 kids going to Cornell from this graduating class, and probably 15-20 to the other Ivies. |
Ten kids are going to Cornell from Whitman? Wow. |
