Where to Buy a Kitchen Countertop?

Anonymous
Hi - our kitchen is being renovated through Paul Davis Restoration after a flood from the apt above destroyed ours. but they told us to order a kitchen countertop through Counter Intelligence in Silver Spring. I called them on June 7 and haven't heard back.

Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.

Porcelanosa kitchen/tile/bath in Rockville could give you some ideas.

We just had a counter replaced by Bray and Schraff in Bethesda. Company is reliable albeit more epensive than others. They did a nice job since it was a retrofit.

Home Depot. They'll set you up with the countertop and the contractors to install them.

We also did this in our last house when we updated. We identified the counter material we wanted including the SKU # and the contractor went back to buy it. He had a contractor discount, so we got his discount this way, but we picked out the material. He had the dimensions, numbers, etc to place the order once we selected the material. Worked well for us.

I was thinking the same thing as I see it everywhere on the photos on houzz.com I use for inspiration. It seems like the white carrara type of marble is the new "in" for the countertops. I am not so sure I would want this as this is such a high maintenance material especially white carrara that is considered not so great for water exposure and must be periodically resealed. Granite seems much more practical, but I was even thinking silestone (quartz) as this requires no maintenance.

Silestone is double or triple expensive than granite. However, it IS the lowest maintenance material afaik.
