Just before noon today, police say a mother and her 3-year-old son waited at a bus stop in Takoma Park.

When the woman tried to defend her child, the man punched her in the mouth and took off on foot southbound in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue. http://www.wjla.com/articles/2012/06/man-attacks-3-year-old-boy-for-crying-punches-mom-in-takoma-park-77028.html What is this world coming to? |
An American passenger threw water on a Brazilian baby's face a few years ago in the airplane.
Seems like you guys have low tolerance for whiny kids in public places... |
I hope the man has mental health issues. Or else it truly sucks to think people like that are just walking around. |
How do you know the guy was American? |
But Takoma Park has great walkability - I'd live there with my baby despite the assaults and other crime.

Brazil deports American for throwing water at crying baby
SAO PAULO, Brazil (AP) — A drunken American who splashed a cup of water in the face of a crying baby during a flight to Brazil will be deported, the federal police said Thursday. . . . Duffy, whose home was listed only as Pennsylvania, was seated next to a Brazilian couple and their baby. "Annoyed with the baby's constant crying, Duffy, who was drunk, threw the contents of a cup of water in the baby's face," Castilho said, adding that flight attendants had to "restrain other passengers who wanted to beat him up." The pilot informed police, and Duffy was detained when the plane landed. The baby's parents did not file charges. http://www.usatoday.com/travel/news/2004-01-29-brazil-deports_x.htm |
I'm going to hope you aren't trying to draw a conclusion based on two instances. |
Last I heard he's still at large. Do you have a link? |
Obviously, no one should hit a kid for crying as this will make him crymore and louder and no onr should throw eater in someone else's face, child or adult. However. whining crying, tantrum throwing childrren are incredibly annoying and too many of you do nothing to quiet them down
Last week a woman had a screaming baby and toddler during story time at the library and just sat there. Believee, the rest of us would have loved throwing water on all three. |
No way. I'm just talking about what we read here on DCUM every day. Our little precious snowflakes are barely allowed to breathe in public. |
Really? The reason you shouldn't hit a three year old is because it will make them cry more? Something wrong with you, way more wrong than the lady who sat through storytime with her crying toddler. Way more wrong. |
I think it's fair to say that both the mother and the poster are extreme re their responses. Thinking you'd "love" to throw water sounds extreme to me, but sitting during a public story time and letting your baby scream doesn't seem what a typical mom would do either. |
youre' nuts! |
