We are new to the area, and have scheduled appointments to see homes in Stratford Landing. It is zoned for Fort Hunt (we have toddlers), and have been told that Stratford Landing elementary might be a better option.
Advice? Thanks. I plan on doing my own research, but wanted to check in with the locals. |
| Try the area around Hollin Meadow ES. Visit the school. You'll love it. Really nice families-- not super competitive or into cliques. School does amazing things. Great teachers. |
| Stratford is a nice area. Waynewood right next to it is even prettier and zoned for West Potomac HS. I think a lot of Stratford is Mt. Vernon HS, so watch out if you will be around for that long... |
| Actually, all of Stratford Landing is zoned for West Potomac, as is all of the 22308 zip code. I think Riverside Gardens is the prettiest neighborhood that feeds into Stratford Landing. Waynewood has some really pretty, pricey sections with no power lines, and then some more hodge podge sections with contemporary homes thrown into the mix and power lines. Not as cute in my opinion, but great community feel if aesthetics aren't as high on your list. |
