Please suggest good daycares in the areas above. Our DC is 19 months and we are moving to AU area where we bought a house. Thanks |
There are not many year-round daycares in upper NWDC. Many families in AU Park use a nanny until their child is old enough for preschool (usually 2 years old is the youngest for preschool, and preschools in upper NWDC usually start in September) and then either do a nanny/preschool combo or a full day preschool.
That being said, for daycares, you can look at Broadcasters by the Van Ness metro and Kinderhaus in Cleveland Park. But if you read the past posts on this forum, there are mixed reviews. There likely will be a wait list at those places as well. It looks like your child will be 2 in November so would miss the cutoff date for preschools, which is usually 2 by September or October. But some schools will let you pay to hold the spot open until your child turns 2. Franklin Montessori (Van Ness) also has a late October cutoff date for its 2s class. You can also look at Chevy Chase Montessori. |

I don't think its true that most use nannies although some do. But man that live in those zip codes use daycare too -- we just go to places that are nearer to our offices in various downtown business districts rather then close to home. The options already included on this chain are good ones that do happen to be in the areas described. There is also a chevy chase coop in Friendship Heights. I've known people that have used all the listed options and been pleased with them, although I use a downtown center. |
also Friendship Children's Center at friendship hts. metro:
