ever since having my DD (16 months ago), whenever I ovulate, I get a disgustingly remarkable amount of mucus along with it. I'm talking soak-your-underwear-in-an-hour amount. This absolutely did not happen prior to having DD, so I'm wondering if this is a normal thing for women to go through once they've had kids, or if something else is going on. I can't imagine anything bad (except being pretty grossed out) about it, but just thought I'd check to see if it was normal or not.
That is interesting. Maybe it is because your cervix after you have children is not as tightly closed as it was before? So more mucus is able to come out at once?
I feel the same thing happened for me. I tell myself it's because my body knows what to do now... not because I have a giant yawning cavernous vagina, post baby. DH says everything is the same down there (he'd know) but maybe somehow something changed?
Yes, I like to call it crazy-pussy. I have more lubrication in general, post-birth. I think it's a benefit, not a burden. Wear a panty liner around ovulation.
Me too ladies. Statistically your likelihood of pregnancy post partum does go up, right (obvs after return of menses)? I figured this was one of many reasons why.

Yep. Me too. DC is 3.5yo, so I don't think it's going away any time soon.
One thought though . . . did you change or stop your birth control? I had to stop taking hormonal birth control after having DC because it now sends me off the deep end. I tried 3 different kinds, same result with each one. So I stopped taking it, which changed my cycle (and increased the mucus). Now I have the Paragard IUD, and it's changed again. |
