Where can I find an investment club for my teens?

Anonymous
Sadly, they aren't going to learn from us. I want to find a club they can join so they can learn with other teens in a fun setting. Anyone have any experience with this?

Great idea, I'll be checking back for responses.

Where are all of you wealthy people with your high level investment knowledge? How do you teach your kids about money?

No club to point you to, we just do it ourselves. My husband, who is way more interested in this stuff than I am, has been sitting down with our son, who is now almost 7yo, for the past 2 years and has opened an account for him to trade with. It's not a formal thing, they just sit down together every few months to review progress and pick investments together.

To be honest, I really didn't think DS was getting much from this because he is so young. But recently, when he & his friend were in the backseat of the car, I overheard a strange conversation:

DS: Well, I've got, like $1000.
Friend: No you don't. Where did you get it?
DS: I invest it. You know, like stocks..
Friend: What's that?
DS: It's when you buy a little piece of a company and then, when people buy something that the company makes, I get a little bit of that money...

My jaw dropped. It was so odd and funny to hear.

That said, DS has become a hoarder when it comes to money. He only wants to invest and will not spend it on anything, either for himself, or to charity. So, we're rethinking things right now...
