Do you buy a gift for your spouse on your anniversary?

My husband gives flowers and we go to dinner but i don't buy a gift. Just wondering.

We exchange gifts every year. Then again, we buy each other stuff for birthdays, Christmas, Valentines and Mother/Father's day too. And occasionally Easter. Fun for us.

Today is our anniversary. DH has forgotten. I plan to remind him right before he falls asleep. His surprised guilt will result in a big treat for me!

We usually talk about it first- when we agree, we'll buy a gift. Other years, we've had a lot going on financially and have decided to forgo gifts and just do a dinner. Or, since we have young kids, we'll skip the dinner but meet up at lunch somewhere nice.

This is us too. One of the best anniversary dates we had was a very long lunch at Volt in Frederick.

We go out for dinner and exchange cards. Been doing it for more than 20 years. We aren't big on mothers day/fathers day gifts either.

Same as you, OP. My husband loves flowers, so we both enjoy them!

I always do the "traditional" and "modern" gifts they say to give for anniversaries, but with a twist. So for our sixth aniversary, traditional was "sugar" and modern is "wood". He got his favorite candy and a book (made from wood, right?)

Some years it is hard to come up with stuff, but always fun too. I usually just get flowers, a card and one small thing, which I am more than happy with.
