| You should check out Bunheads on ABC family. Written by Amy Sherman Pallandino, it's pretty good, and i think it might fill the gap left behind! |
| Thanks. |
| Yes I liked it. |
| LOVED it!!! I basically love 90% of ABC family shows - just not the darker shows, like PLL. |
| I'm trying to like the Sutton whatever her last name is actress who plays Michelle. I guess I want a younger Lauren Graham in the role and this actress isn't doing it for me. But I think the writing is good and love having Kelly Bishop back. I've never watched anything on ABC Family before, but as a diehard Gilmore fan I wanted to give it a try, and I'm glad I did. I was completely thrown by the ending, though. |
| Thanks! |
| Is there only 1 episode so far? |
| Sutton Foster is a fab broadway actress.. When is it on? |
|
Oh I do miss Gilmore Girls. Maybe I will give this a try.
I miss Felicity too while we are throwing out shows we miss
|
| I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but yeah, that ending was wrenching. I'm actually LESS interested in watching than I was before the twist. Though I probably still will. I like Sherman-Palladino's dialogue. |

So I just watched the first two episodes of Bunheads last night. Despite all of the praise, I was really disappointed. I've heard the main actress Sutton Foster (or whatever her name is) is supposed to be a fantastic broadway actress, but she was really kind of awkward on the show. I wanted to like it, but so far I'm pretty unimpressed...
What did others think who've seen both episodes? |
| I've only watched the first episode, I still have the second on Tivo. I agree, she was awkward and I thought the whole story line of her marrying Hubble was a little far fetched. He came across as a stalker type, so after a bad audition she decides to marry him and move to his hometown? Just seemed weird if you ask me. They could have come up with something better to get her in that town... |
|
I've only seen the first episode and....meh. I could take it or leave it. I want to give it more time because I really want to like the show. We'll see.
Sutton's problem is that she's a theatre/broadway actress. Her facial expressions are a little bit too much for TV. It's like she's trying to hard. |
This is exactly what I thought too. I think this will be a flop for Sherman-Paladino. It's cutesy, but nothing compared to Gilmore girls. There are lots of single women raising teenage kids. I don't know anyone who did what this character did. Maybe it's just me, but I find relatable stories more interesting. |

I am a PP who loved it. I just like the dialogue and the characters, not really focused on the acting.
I have no interest in TV being relatable - my life is pretty boring
