Costco price check

Anonymous
We are seriously contemplating joining Costco but I wanted to check some prices first on things we frequently buy. I'm the type of shopper who knows exactly what I pay for many things, so hopefully many of you do too. Also, I don't even know if they have what we'd want.

Wondering about:

Fruit
Peppers
Avocadoes
Organic milk
Laughing Cow red wheel thingies
Morningstar Farms stuff
Amy's Organic burritos
Amy's Organic pizza
Annie's fruit snacks
Jif peanut butter
Stacy's pita chips

That's about it. Happy to hear your staple prices too!

I do SAMs not cosco, so I won't coment on brands but this is what I find cheapest there

Fruit and veggies but they are not organic
Diapers and wipes
Chips and crackers
Cheese
Meat
Yogurt
Eggs, egg beaters and Canadian bacon
Cascade and other cleaning products
They have organic milk (horizon 2% 3 half gallons) it used to be cheaper but has gone up in price so now it's cheaper at trader joes

You really have to know your prices because some things are a good deal but some are not

We have both Sams and Costco memberships. (We have 2 college aged daughters, in diff locations, so one is on Sams w/dad, the other is on Costco w/me). My hubby prefers Sams, I prefer Costco. They sell many of the same items and brands. Overall, though, Sams seems less expensive (especially on produce).

Go to your nearest Costco and get a trial membership. Each Costco has slightly different inventory, and you might find reasonable substitutes for the items on your list.

You can also do a DCUM search on favorite Costco items and get a general idea of what people buy there in bulk.

For me, one of the best things about Costco is their generous return policy. I also really like the fact that they treat their employees very well --esp compared to Sam's and the other big box stores.
