My 15 month old DD had the MMR vacinne a week ago and she developed a fever, which averaged 101.6 for 3 days. The highest it got was 102.4. It's now 99.9 I noticed she has a lot of red spots on her stomach, back and trunk. After doing some research, I think these symptoms from the MMR shot develop 7-10 days after. I will inform her Dr. tomorrow morning just in case it's not something else. Just curious...has anyone else's babe had these same symptoms?
yep I think 10% of babies can get a measles rash reaction from the MMR vaccine. Our DS got one and it lasted a few days. Not much you can do about it and it is not contagious. I think it showed up about 10 days after he got the shot.
Yes, our daughter had the measles rash and a fever about a week and a half after her shot. It goes away on its own and is just an unfortunate side effect. Best wishes.

Yes, both of my children had similar reactions.
Sorry she's going through this - poor thing! It should be over soon though.... |
Mine just had that happen a month ago. Took her to the Dr, mainly to get a note for daycare so they wouldn't freak out. Dr said that as long as she wasn't running a fever (101+) or scratching it wasn't a problem. BTW don't be alarmed if the rash seems redder after your DC has been out in the sun or after a bath.
OP here. Thanks for all the replies, much appreaciated! i'm feeling much more at ease now. Yes, I did notice her spots get more pronouced after her bath. I also had her pediatrician write up a note, the same day she got her shots, that if she got a fever/rash not to call me to come take her home and that she's not contagious! It's happened before! I will let her daycare now tomorrow that the rash is from the MR shot. Thanks again!
