Homestead tips with infant? Also PSA on 50% off sale

Anonymous
I'm spending three nights at the Homestead with my mom and month-old baby (she'll be six weeks by then). Any tips on what to do- we've never been there before. They were so nice about putting a crib and fridge in the room so hopefully we don't have any issues there. Anyway, any tips on activities or restaurants would be appreciated!

And a PSA, if you book by tonight, all stays of 3 nights or more are 50% off! We are staying for like $500 total for three nights which is a great deal!

We just went with a 15 month old and I hate to say this but we were pretty bored after a day or so. Granted, it was in April so we couldn't use the new outdoor pool so if that is open, that might be nice. But I don't think you want to be outside in the sun that much with an infant.

The indoor pool is nice and the spa is very nice so if you can take turns with the baby, you should definitely enjoy the spa. If you golf, they have great golfing but again, one of you needs to stay with the baby. Of course, you should visit the hot springs--not sure what their rules are on bringing the baby with you.

There isn't a lot to do outside of the resort because there isn't much outside of the resort. Its pretty secluded---NOTHING around for miles and miles. Other than restaurants that are owned by the property, there aren't a lot of options within walking distance. The restaurants at the hotel are pretty fancy and expensive (and not that good IMO). There is a little cafe called the Country Kitchen or Country Cafe about a mile away which is cheap and delicious so try to go there at least once--best pancakes I've ever had!

There are a lot of nice walking trails so you should take advantage of those if you like to take walks. You should go to tea in the afternoon--always delightful, especially in the South.

I felt like we would have enjoyed it a lot more if it were just my husband and I but again, I was not there when the new pool was open so if that is open, that could add a lot more activity. We both agreed that it would be a great place to return to in the summer in 5-7 years as the new waterpark looks awesome but there wasn't a lot for a baby. It's beautiful though.
