They have more opportunities. Richmond used to play Ohio, Maryland United Bethesda, NC Courage's A team (they now play their B team), Charlotte Soccer Academy. Instead they have Loudoun, VDA Wilmington Hammerhead, NC Fusion (which was always average), McLean (which has taken some losses at the younger ages between Arlington and Metro). FCV plays Penn Fusion, Tophat, Cedar Stars (which at the younger ages has pulled some PDA players), FC Fury, Charlotte Soccer Academy, Ohio, and so forth. So yeah, they are getting better opportunities. |
That explains why the Patriots can’t win Super Bowls because they play in a weak division that doesn’t make them better..... |
If that's the case, who's actually developing the players? They can't all just be naturally gifted and not receiving any feedback or training??? |
I wouldnt compare youth soccer to professional football. Not only does development in each sport look different, adults and your are. |
When it was only ECNL FCV simply attracted the best players. It’s not like they were ever turning C team players into National team or big D1 players. They simply were gifted the opportunity to select from the top talent and then coach good enough to not screw it up. |
| There's also the half year factor versus the full year factor. FCV teams train for 10 months, instead of just 6 months. |
The point is the training makes more of a developmental difference than games do. |
In your opinion, but in that case FCV still has the advantage by training for almost double the time. I would never discount the value of higher level game experience, which is why even a very well coached NPL team can't match up with the pace of play either DA or ECNL teams compete with. |
In a club of this size, there isn't even 1 coach worth training under? |
They got boat raced by FCV last pre-season 6-0 at HALF TIME. It isn't Richmond. They are a good team. It is the MA ECNL teams believing they are good. Weak conference = inflated team ability. |
Yes, all of them! |
Exactly! The naysayers don't want to hear the answer. They already know it! |
No, they were not. They play the same style game now they did at U11 & U12. If they ARE trying something new, it doesn't look different than many years ago. |
I think the team took 1 month off, which was optional. |
So if Bobby is supposedly focused on twitter, someone has to be focused on the girls. Is that Christian? |
