Because that's what bipartisan means. Always votes with their party but is nice to the other guys socially. |
Her record is clearly bipartisan. https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members/susan_collins/300025/report-card/2018 |
She squandered her reputation as a bipartisan with that appalling speech explaining why she was supporting Bart O'Kavanaugh - not just because it was clearly just a moment of falling into line, but also because it was a rebuke of her promise to Maine voters that she'd protect Roe. I hope it was worth it for her. |
Appalling speech? That was a great speech. What exactly in that speech was a rebuke of a promise to protect Roe? |
Voting to confirm Kavanaugh was a rebuke of the promise to protect Roe. And the speech was disgraceful in its disingenuousness. Ask Maine voters what they thought of all that. If they are happy with it, then she'll get reelected. If not - then it matters not what you and I think of what she did. |
No offense, but from a Donald supporter and his Hitlerian ego rallies, no one trusts your ability to judge what makes a “great speech.” |
+1. That was the Speech of the Decade. |
It was a good speech. It was just unrelated to reality. |

I don't know, guys - seems like no matter how much a few enthusiastic DCUM posters say they think Collins did a good thing with the Kav vote, Mainers might not totally agree But she could still turn it around! It's a toss up now, not yet a lean Dem prediction. |
whatever we think of whether I LOVE BEER had a good confirmation hearing or not, or who the injured parties were - now it's up to collins to prove to her voters that she didn't fck them over and they should give her another chance.
|
I hate Susan Collins. I hope she loses big! |
In Maine, this decision did not help her. Regardless of your personal opinions on her choice. - poster who lives in Maine. |
I love her and wish her continued success. |
Her constituents are displeased and her approval numbers at home are her worst ever. Her constituents are not fools pp. |
Arizona, Colorado and Maine are all listed as tossup races for the Republicans to defend. Susan Collins is in deep trouble.
