So if Trump is funding TSA, is there going to be any motivation to actually fund the rest of DHS? At least FEMA and CBP?

If they can pay TSA by fiat, they can pay them too. This has all been theater to create chaos and blame it on Democrats. Trump has never cared about properly appropriating taxpayer dollars as Congress intended. He just swiped hundreds of billions from State and sent it to the Board of Peace.

Needing a basic judicial order to enter a private citizens or organizations home or business is a fundamental right of all US citizens! ICE is violating the laws of the United States against US citizens! They are acting exactly like the Nazi SS. This is illegal in the US! Everyone on no matter how conservative they may be should care about this!

I work for TSA and I don’t want them to reopen without reforms to ICE. I can’t believe that they’re doing this. what utter stupidity. It’s all a farce. The normal attrition rate is not being exceeded. This was one of their only cards that they could use to reform these Nazi fascists.

The Democratic members of Congress seem more than happy to cede their legislative and funding responsibilities to the man they accuse of acting like a king. Instead of actually doing their jobs, they waited until Trump took drastic measures to ensure that the innocent TSA members received pay for the work they do. And, Democrats were fine with that. Because Senate Democrats didn’t end up accepting the Republican offer on DHS funding & negotiations fell apart yesterday, Dems will get *zero* of the ICE reforms they had been demanding, including ones that GOP had already agreed to, like showing ID, increased Congressional oversight, agreements to not hit sensitive locations, etc.

These reforms were the reason Dems started the shutdown in the first place, and now instead of getting a few concessions on their demand list, they get none.

The only thing they secured was no funding for CBP & ICE, which are largely already funded via the OBBB, and Republicans will seek to fund them even further without Dem votes in reconciliation instead.

As for the Dem’s demand list on ICE reforms?

“That ship has sailed,” Sen. Majority Leader John Thune said this morning. “They kissed that opportunity goodbye by failing to provide funding for those agencies.”
