I’m, guessing that Trump has persecuted many more people than anyone else. AG Letitia James should be first in line for compensation. James Comey next for malicious prosecution. Senator Mark Kelly and six other democrats were charged under political persecution. No grand jury would indict any of them. There’s a list of several hundred of trumped up charges on people who did trump wrong.
On the other hand the people Trump wants to compensate are felons who were given fair trials and convicted by a jury. I’m not understanding how these type of schemes Trump puts out aren’t immediately shut down. |
Poor Mark Kelly. Decorated veteran and US Senator and subject to a vindictive Hegseth probe for saying telling troops to refuse illegal orders (which is the law). Yet Trump has gotten billions to pay out his own version of "victims" who attacked Capitol Police and caused billions of damage to the Capitol. He gets more shockingly amoral every day. |

There are already two bills that would tax these payouts at 100%.
Congress is not taking a liking to this nonsense. |

Trump is mad at something an IRS contractor did in 2020 when Trump was in charge of the IRS. So because he’s in charge of DOJ and the IRS again, he gets to direct DOJ to settle his lawsuit against the IRS with a $1.8B slush fund of your money to dish out to his minions. The DOJ under Biden sent the contractor to prison and the IRS under Biden settled similar lawsuits using none of your money, btw. Hope this helps. |
Do any republicans support them? Will Mikie and Johnnie allow a vote? |

Even if taxing this doesn't come to pass this year or next, there is nothing to prevent Congress from enacting specific legislation in the future that will apply retroactively.
