Although I still think it was the best thing at the time to do, my 55year old sister refers her teenage abortion. I think she regrets what might have been because she has never had children. Would she make the same choice under the same circumstances knowing that she would never be a mother, she doesn’t know. I do think some women have regrets, but the question is what is the regret.

and that is also a valid feeling to have. No one said people aren't allowed to regret their choices/decisions.

But regretting a past choice vs blaming it on the other person for making or forcing you is a different animal.

Yet Taylor Swift has made a billion dollars on blaming others for her losses. Britney tried to hide hers and took responsibility in private. If Britney had written a personal diary song about revenge and sex (like Justin did) it would have been worth millions. Sad really that pop culture has monetized revenge instead of grieving, but the proof is in the money.

Britneys words are:
"I went into a hair salon, and I took the clippers, and I shaved off all my hair," Spears writes. "Everyone thought it was hilarious. Look how crazy she is! Even my parents acted embarrassed by me. But nobody seemed to understand that I was simply out of my mind with grief. My children had been taken away from me."

Some people seek revenge (like Justin and Taylor) and try to hurt the one who hurt them. Britney seems to be the type that hurt herself when she is hurting.

So why don’t people respect that in the same way they see Taylor’s vengeful vigilante shit which is an expression of hurt and pain?

I personally have zero regret, and as many have shared with you, that is not uncommon. Not everyone believes it is a sin or murder. I don’t personally believe in God (though I did learn theology in school and even attended CCD as a child).

Regretting an abortion is a minority view. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. Do we need to explain stats to you?

DP. But why is this even a discussion when you are talking about a specific woman expressing her personal feelings about her own choices? There’s tons of people in the world who outside looking in aren’t making the best choice having children and still get to make that choice for themselves. The goal of the pro-choice movement is to give women a choice not to decide that only women in great situations, likely to have the “best” children should have that option. Also…there appears to be nothing wrong with the children she did have.

They were like 17 and 18 years old. Of course he didn't want to be a father.

+1 he made the rational choice that any reasonable 18yo would make. How many people would want their teen-years dirty laundry now aired for the world?

Rational to terminate a viable baby? They were healthy multi-millionaire ADULTS.

That would be born to a mom not equipped to raise children (look at how she's doing with the 2 she did give birth to) and to a dad who didn't want the kid. Sounds awesome.

Again, they were both multi-millionaire adults with more resources than anyone their age. Her own sister gave birth to a beautiful daughter when she was even younger. I guess her sister should have killed the baby too. The fact that her sister didn’t likely underscores the mistake Britney made and adds to her trauma.

Britney's career wouldn't have ended if she had a baby at 19 or 20. Reese Witherspoon had a few around that age and is still an A-list movie star.

Reese Witherspoon basically had a shotgun marriage to Ryan Phillipe, who wound up being a massive jackoff. She then remarried, had a third child with husband #2, and is now divorcing him.

Acting is a LITTLE different than being a pop star. Reese was also born rich.

You're really twisting yourself into a pretzel. A Justin and Britney baby would have been healthy and beautiful...and fine. There was no good reason to terminate it. It's sad. And it's understandable that such a life event would cause permanent trauma. Especially since she's probably pre-menopausal and knows she can't have enough baby.

It’s true- the vast majority of people do not regret their abortions. They do not find them traumatic, they’d make the same decision again. This has been borne out in study after study.

You may have anecdotally heard different things in your “pro life” groups from mentally disturbed or weak-minded individuals. I feel very sorry for those lost souls, some people just can’t think for themselves which often how they find themselves associated with people who believe in fairy tales and other nonsense. Brittany appears to be a fine example of someone who is unable to think for herself and mentally disturbed. She probably still regrets wearing green to the grocery store 5 years ago, too.
