Outside of the Kenyon Review, which has nothing to do with undergrads, the school has very little going for it that would place it higher. It’s an okay school for okay kids. |
W&L should be ranked near top 5 imo. I don’t know what’s holding it back. |
It’s easier to get in than schools like Pomona but the quality of students is quite high and the teaching is fantastic. DC is there - the kids are impressive. Don’t understand point about Kenyon Review- school has no grad students. |

Well, it’s a separate organization run by full-time staff. You’d know this if your dc goes there. Undergrads have nothing to do with it, but it’s always brought up like it matters. |
Can you find something else to do besides repeatedly talking about “how woke” these SLACs are? We heard you from your first five posts. For someone that is complaining about diverse viewpoints, you sure like to dominate the discussion and discount other people’s experiences. It’s obvious you have no actual real world experience with any of these schools. We heard you..you hate northern LACs and SLACs. Move along. |
Damn I wonder where those $45k checks are going every semester then! I also have a subscription and note a fair amount of student content. As for student non-involvement, just not true… https://forward.kenyon.edu/stories/story/the-gatekeepers/?t&utm_source=perplexity |
So basically an over glorified book club. Ooh so prestigious! |
What do you want out of a literary journal? Anyway- the school is great - one of the best Lacs in the Midwest with a unique culture and intergenerational ties that don’t exist many other places - every kid who goes there loves it. Campus is gorgeous. Your opinion doesn’t matter. |
You’re…joking, right? https://www.niche.com/colleges/kenyon-college/reviews/ So many kids dislike their time at Kenyon. This is borderline propagandistic hogwash. “Intergenerational ties” tf does that mean, and you haven’t even brought any evidence to show people even wanna go there. |
That overall grade of A is a real indictment… I meant a lot of families have ties to the school which go way back. It’s a unique special place. This is what draws students to a small campus on a hill in rural Ohio. You have to visit or be a part of it to understand. It is of course a small school in a rural location- that is not going to be universally appealing. Every aspect of our kid’s experience there has been great. Can’t recommend it enough- esp for students who don’t have hooks or perfect stats and therefore probably can’t get into the most selective lacs. |
Yes. |
Ranking colleges is stupid. Stop giving them credence. |
This is delusional. Someone is Kenyon boosting for no reason. |
Most are ranked pretty accurately. Id say Harvey Mudd should be boosted a bit. |
