How did it die?

My last ancestors to arrive in this country came from Scotland in the late 1700s, so no ancestry-based citizenship for me. Fortunately have enough money to buy golden visas in some countries but those programs seem to be tightening up. Seems like the world wants to quarantine Americans and can’t say I entirely blame them.

What is the benefit of EU citizenship?

+1 my aunt was thinking getting her Irish citizenship would somehow save her adult kids from some apocalyptic US future. She doesn’t realize the citizenship doesn’t transfer to her kids

No

That's 3 Reichs ago.

If you are mediocre and not American successful it's a good option to live and coast

Good plan. What could go wrong with a $1 villa? A little paint & a couple nails & it’s good as new.

Not eligible, ancestors arrived well before 1776, no need for citizenship elsewhere. Eventually these other countries will just become states. Trudeau should feel fortunate that Canada will be the first, unless Greenland beats him.

I didn’t know there were so many summer soldiers & sunshine patriots in the country. Just spare us the drama & go already.

I know this is an old thread, but has anyone successfully gotten their German citizenship?
I ask because one person I know who had a grandfather who left before ww1 was told that there was no record of him, or what record existed probably was lost due to the following 2 wars

My daughters have lost their civil rights, don't want them becoming grown women here.

Look into having an expungement made for them by petitioning your state’s Governor - assuming they were convicted of non-violent felonies.

If you don’t mind me asking, what did they do? Violent or nonviolent? It makes a huge difference.
