Fabric canopy / "gazebo" for backyard - anyone have one and can provide feedback?

I've been wanting to get a fabric canopy or gazebo for my backyard, which has no trees. Has anyone gotten something like the one at this link, and what are the pros and cons? Will it kill the lawn underneath it even if I leave the curtains all open when it's not in use? All feedback appreciated!

| My mom has one. From home depot and beige. It's great for stiing in at a table for dinner outdoors. I would certainly say don't get white. There is a lot of dust and such that can blow up and make it look dirty. |

| We're looking into this too - we have a small courtyard (for want of a better word) behind our row house. We thought bout an umbrella, but the offset umbrella bases are soooo large, we didn't think it would work. We're also looking at this IKEA one. Any other feedback greatly appreciated! |

I have one originally from Home Depot bought on craigslist on my patio. I adore it, and leave it set up year round. We have a private, fenced back yard. I use it for all but the hottest time of the year. My canopy is beige. The white looks pretty but would get too dirty, fast.
