I don't usually care when famous people die -- I've never met them. But this makes me sad. I grew up reading his books. ![]() http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-ray-bradbury-20120607,0,5622415.story?page=2 |
He was definitely a great writer, and this news reminded me that I've never gotten around to reading some of his work.(Too many books, too little time) |
I loved his work as well. This is a true loss. |
sniff, sniff.... I love Farenheit 451 and the Martian Chronicles. I think Bradbury was one of the last golden age scifi authors left, so this is even more of a loss. IMHO he and his contemporaries produced some of the best Science Fiction ever. |
I was surprised he was still alive. |
RIP Ray.
I remember and loved "The Illustrated Man". I was totally scared reading "Something Wicked This Way Comes" as a pre-teen. What a loss. |
Me too. |
I'll be headed to the library to read these again.

October Country. |
Dark They Were and Golden Eyed is my favorite. |
Yes! |
Fahrenheit 1700 to you, Mr. Bradbury. Farewell. |
A giant of my childhood. His books & stories are some of those that totally shaped my inner life. |
