NOva pool/lake communites

I'm looking in the $500-1M price range. So far I've identified mantua in 22031, lakevale in 22181, Burke in 22015, lake barcroft in 22041/22044, and McLean hamlet in 22102. I grew up in Montclair (dumfries) in 22025, and definitely don't want to be so far out, but I'm looking for something similar closer in with this price range. Are there any other similar communities closer in?

In Falls Church, Vienna and McLean, there are a ton of pool communities (not so much lakes). I would look at 22101, 22043, 22046, and 22180 and 22181 too.

In the Mclean 22101 area alone, for pools, there's: Tuckahoe, Chesterbrook, HighPoint, Kent Gardens....etc. I'm sure there are more.

Thanks, but I think I may have implied that I was looking for a pool club, when I meant a housing community that has a pool (or lake) in it. This community would probably have a home owners association.

Thanks for the shouse village suggestion. I hadnt seen that!

At the lower end of your range ($500s for detached SFH), our neighborhood in Burke has its own pool. It's also right next to the Rolling Road VRE. http://burkestation.net/

The neighborhoods in the Burke Centre Conservancy also have pools. http://www.burkecentreweb.com/home.asp

Thanks everyone! So we've got:

Mantua
Lakevale
Burke (Burke Station, Burke Centre, etc)
Lake Barcroft
Mclean Hamlet
Shouse Village

Any others? I guess I'm surprised that there are so few.

The pool in Mantau is not run by an HOA. You have to go on the waitlist and wait until a spot opens up. I've heard that the wait is a few years.

Waynewood?

The other thing I would suggest is not to rule out listings that don't have a pool club. For example, some pool clubs that are very desirable with more amenities than a neighborhood pool (Vienna Woods comes to mind) can be transferred with the purchase of the house.

Also, in Fairfax City there is Farrcroft which is a pool community. You can also join Fairfax Pool no matter where you live.

Wakfield Chapel Re center has a great pool. Houses mostly in the 500-700 range.
