What do you buy @ Trader Joe's?

What are your Trader Joe's staples for quick, healthy dinners? We don't eat red meat, but do eat chicken/veggie meals. I just have a feeling I'm missing some good stuff and would love to hear what other folks get from TJs. Thanks!

Love the frozen mandarin chicken, and chicken fried rice. Quick and easy.

Oh God, not this again. Trader Joes has plenty of healthy foods - plenty. Not everything is unhealthy just like not everything at Whole Foods is healthy/low calorie. Look at your labels, people!

And OP was looking for healthy reccomendations, so either chime in or butt out.

So why specify Trader Joe's? Why not just ask for recommendations for quick, healthy dinners? It was the specificity that cracked me up after all the chat on the other thread.

I like their tortillas. Just grab some organic chicken ... cook it on a pan and chop up veggies, avocados, etc. (is that healthy enough?) Or you can switch out the chicken for fish.

You can also do panini's. Buy tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and anything else you want to put in them.

And their frozen dinners work well for those days you are in a bind. (pizza, orange chicken, lasagna).

I get some penne, a can of diced tomatoes, garlic clove, parm and some olive oil. Boil noodles, combine ingredients in a pan and you have a quick dinner.

Their steamed lentils (refridgerated section of produce) are amazing. We eat them cold -- out of the package as a snack, in spinach salads with the TJ's New Zealand grass-fed cow sharp cheddar shredded on top and quartered heirloom tomatoes -- and hot in soups or as a side dish. Those and the cheese I mentioned are pretty much the reason I pop in there a couple times a month.

why. Maybe she lives next door to TJs. Or passes it going home from work. who knows? who cares? chime in or but out.

Turkey meatballs
Rice, frozen and regular
Spaghetti sauce, not syrupy sweet
Mini pizzas
Great cheese selection and organic dairy reasonably priced
Their produce is hideous.

Please give it a rest, lady. Where is your health food store? Or, are you growing all our food in your backyard and bartering with farmers for raw milk?

Personally, I shop all over when I can. TJ is one of the places I go. And, I am sure I am missing some good stuff there.

I like this thread!

TJs has a different selection of stuff than your average Safeway or Giant, so it's always nice to hear about what others are buying and loving from it.

The frozen brown rice is a miracle, I swear.

Because the OP wants to shop at that store. Really, why are you so obsessed with this topic? It's weird.

I really like their eggplant curry. We serve on rice, or use as a snack/appetizer with naan. I like their precooked sausages, too, which i can slice and cook with sundried tomatoes, marinated artichokes, and pasta. One of my favorite things from TJs has to be their maple pecan cereal. I have it in the morning with coconut or almond milk - yum!
