Did you and a sibling marry brothers or sisters?

I have always wondered about what this is like.

Happened in our family. My cousins, two brothers married two sisters in a double wedding.

I grew up with friends whose parents were in this situation. The cousins were very close, the families seemed nice.

My husband has some relatives who will soon do this. The mother of... well, two of the parties involved... told me she was just relieved that she already knew her son's prospective in-laws.

My mother and her sister married first cousins and we all lived next door to each other. It was the same as my other cousins and aunts and uncles

I grew up with families consisting of identical twins who had married (identical twin men/identical twin women). They lived near one another on our street and the kids all had the same last name, and all looked alike (shared the same genes actually).

Yes my grandmother and grandfather on my fathers side. My dad and his cousin were 3 months apart. Like peas in a pod. I called my dads cousin, uncle. He was my godfather and he died last year. I miss him everyday. My dad is devastated, though he doesn't talk about it. My uncles parents had a nasty divorce though. Found out after my great aunt died, she was total ice queen bitch and told kids, my aunt and uncle, that their father cheated. Turns out wasn't true, but he took the fall. So sad. My uncle did have a relationship with him but my aunt never did. Turns out he really was a great man. I never knew him because of the family rift and my grandfather died years before I was born. In any event my dad and my uncle were really close and my mom and his wife, my aunt are close. We spent tons of time with them and my cousins growing up.

Does that mean the cousins were genetically siblings?

My mom's two brothers married two sisters. Both marriages ended in divorce, but their kids are all super close.

We had family friends who did this--brother/sister married brother/sister. One of the wives then came out as a lesbian and left the husband. They still remain on good terms as they see one another at family functions but it was strange for awhile.
