Teaching kids to type (keyboard)

Anonymous
My kids' school does a terrible job of teaching the students how to type (or I guess it's called keyboarding now) correctly with the proper fingers, yet the teachers expect much of their work to be typed. Any recommendations for classes or camps in the area or computer games to help a fourth grader and sixth grader learn to type correctly?

OT but why doesn't a more intuitive key layout become the standard and QWERTY can go to hell?

Mavis beacon teaches typing....it's a computer program that I used twenty years ago but I believe theynstillmmakemit as I've seen it at best buy...google it. It was fantastic. I taught myself with it (meaning I didn't need my parents to sit with me) and I was typing super fast and correctly in no time.
