The District & Disappointment

I heard a big PR spot and itI is listeda on the DPR site that the pools and spray grounds were opening Saturday at noon for the holiday. Neither spray ground at Turtle Park nor Livingston Park are on. Annoyed!

Go to the pool instead. Those are open.

I am alone with a 1 and 3 year old who do not swim. Pool would be too stressful.

Wilson pool (NWDC, not far from Turtle Park) has a zero depth entry kids' pool.

I am ALONE. I am not going to a pool with two toddlers alone. They cannot swim and will take off in different directions. We wanted to go to the spray park. DC made the big announcement that the spray parks were open!

Do you have a hose?

Arlington's spray parks are open.

OP, take them to the fountains in Columbia Heights or at the Yards Park.

In fact, they can have frozen yogurt at the fountain in Columbia Heights.

Wow it's tough to be you.

spray is on at the park at Wisc. and K...

Well, you should go easy on OP.

Many of us have to handle our kids alone more often than not, but for people used to the extra support, it must be hard on those occasions it's not available.

OP, it sounds like your orientation is very UpperNW, but if I were you, I'd drive to Columbia Heights, park underneath DCUSA (where the Target is), then let the kids play in the fountain just across the street in between bites of frozen yogurt (which I suggested a couple of posts ago.)

I understand that you're alone. I thought you were nervous about handling two kids in a regular pool and a zero depth entry pool is much easier. Sorry for trying to help.

At 3 and 1 I could take 2 kids alone to a spray park or zero depth entry pool. Its the regular pools that were difficult.
