Miracle Drug for those TTC

I am not kidding, but after TTC for both of my children for over a year each, I tried Robitussin. Both times, Robitussin facilitated my getting pregnant.

Robitussin has Guaifenesin which makes your mucous more watery -- facilitates sperm to travel to egg . . .

I'm curious if this has worked for others?

Nope, although I only tried it one month (yucky stuff).

It worked for me when I conceive my first child. I'm trying again and so far no pregnancy but my cervical mucus is more abundant and thin, so it works....

To OP: Could you tell us what kind of Robitussin you took? I hear that there is a good kind that helps getting pregnant and a bad kind that actually makes it more difficult to get pregnant. Do you know the exact name/brand you took?Thanks! I have heard numerous success stories with Robitussin so I am interested in trying in out myself but I don't what to get the wrong kind!

I'm a little confused - isn't it more harmful for your body to take a medicine if you aren't sick?

And just how much are you suppose to take?

On the same token, you canalso argue not to take certain allergy medicines because they dry you up (referring to the nasal massage, but other areas too).

It is used to help women who have problems with their cervical mucus, such as hostile mucus due to taking Clomid for example...

well, it's not a full-proof method that helps every woman, it just helps some of them who have cervical mucus issues.
just b/c it does not work for one woman does not mean it could not work for another woman...everyone's body is different and reacts differently to different things. if you haven't given it a try and know you have cervical mucus issues, I would give it a try. why not?

First, I apologize to everyone for the sensationalized Subject Line. I did not realize when first writing this post that this sounded so gimmicky.

But seriously, I did view Robitussin as a miracle.

I took plain old Robitussin DM (green label). Guaifenesin is the drug that makes mucous thin.

I did not take very much of it. In fact, I only took a teaspoon a couple to a few hours of TTC.

Anyways, I have been really curious about other's experience with this as it took me about a year and a half to get pregnant with first child. Then a few weeks before we were to start fertility, I tried Robitussin and found out the day before our appointmment at Shady Grove that I was pregnant. Then with TTC number two, it took us 12 months and stupidly, I had forgotten about Robitussin. In fact, when I found ou I was pregnant with the first, I never even tied it to the Robitussin, because I was so distracted and happy about finally being pregnant. So stupidly, I continued for a year trying for number 2 without the Robitussin. One month I remembered the Robitussin and that was the month, I got pregnant.

I really hope this works for others!!!

OP again.

I can type. I meant to say that I took the Robitussin about 2 to 3 hours before TTC.

Also, it makes sense to me that this only works for those with mucous issues. But I wonder how many people have this simple problem and end up going through more involved fertility treatment than needed.

It's been a while now, but I was about to go in for the treatment that put the dye in my tubes to make sure the path was unimpeded, so I was very thankful to not go through that and more.

Anyways, I hope this will help a few avoid more extensive fertility treatments!

If anyone doesn't like the taste of Robitussin, you can buy this stuff called PreSeed online and use it right before you BD ... i only used it for 2 cycles, and got PG both times!

How is all of this different from Mucinex (sp)?

Mucinex is the same thing. It contains Guaifenesin like the Robitussin. It's just another brand name.
